Stephen Gardner

Producer

Stephen Gardner

Stephen Gardner is President and Executive Producer of Gardner Productions Inc. Stephen’s dream of founding his own company began when he decided to go on his own, and it all started in a small office based in his apartment back in 1995. Today, Gardner is a leading boutique production company serving the needs of multinational corporations, banks and brands in the areas of corporate, healthcare, commercial, and on-line web videos. Among Gardner’s clients are Bayer, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Research in Motion, Toshiba, Pepsico Canada, MasterCard, and RBC, just to name a few. As well, many of Gardner’s productions are produced in English and French.

Gardner produces shows and spots in cities all across Canada and abroad. “We’ve filmed in New York, Washington, L.A, Ivalo, Finland, Italy, the Maldive Islands, Costa Rica, Hong Kong, so there’s really lots of diversity with every project we produce.”

The journey for Gardner began in 1995. Prior to this Stephen worked as a broadcast producer, director and writer for the CBC’s The National & The Journal, CBC Newsworld, and CTV’s National News and Canada AM. After working on the news and features side of the business Stephen movedon to producing in-depth documentaries for TSN, Vision TV, TVOntario and Discovery Channel.

It was in 1995 that the US Discovery Channel approached Stephen to independently produce a series of feature programs for their network giving birth to the then unknown but effective Gardner brand. Gardner’s services have evolved in different areas concentrating on various markets. Gardner is a true partner to all their clients, be they big or small.

“I am incredibly proud of how far we’ve come, especially in the last few years,” says Stephen. “Among winning many industry-related awards, we’ve also been recognized by the City of Toronto’s Economic Development Committee as one of the standing businesses in the region”. Gardner has also produced award-winning shows, and has been recognized by many associations around the world. One significant global effort was Gardner’s Canadian production of This is Our Land, a film on individuals and communities living in sustainable environments, which premiered at the World Fair in 2000 in Hanover, Germany.

In addition Stephen has also contributes a great deal of his time to charities including the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation, Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Gilda’s Club, Reena Foundation, and the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation of Canada. “I am very proud of our philanthropic efforts, as well as our dedication and our work with the environment”, says Stephen.

“The scenario, the dialogue, the action, could all have ’viewer discretion advised’ warnings, but that’s the point. it makes you squirm in your seat. It makes you think.”

The Meaford Express

“The production was nothing short of wonderful. Without self-consciousness, topics long dormant sprang back to life again. Beneath the laughter and delight of watching scenes unfold and remix, the more serious side of the message reached its goal.”
